Hello! My name is Zizi and I'm 10 years old.
I love making decorations for my hearing aids.
Here I am going to teach you how to make your own decorations!

I will teach you to make dangling charm decorations, and also twisty decorations that go around the tubes.
Also, I will tell you how I use beads and stickers to decorate my aids.

Some of the decorations are easy to make, but some are difficult and you will need a grown-up to help you.

My mum and dad help me make my decorations for my hearing aids.

New hearing aids

Yesterday I got new hearing aids again. I really liked my red shinny hearing aids, but they didn't work well with the FM system at school. My new hearing aids are purple like my first ones but with grey FM receivers. Today my mum made them look sparkly with stickers. I really like them now. By the way, I'm ten now! I'm not nine any more.

What do you think? Tell me if you like them!

  4. Zizi, these are amazing. I was told when I was a teenager that I needed hearing aids, I was horrified because at the time I was also trying to work on becoming a model and the idea of wearing them just wasn't fashionable. Even far into my adult life I put off the idea (until a few months ago when I started working for the city.) I wish I would have seen this blog when I was younger, I would have dove right in with your creative ideas. This is wonderful and so are you :)

    1. Dear Nicolette,
thank you for comment, I expect that it is hard work being a model, especially when you have to change clothes all the time! I hope everyone liked and still do like your hearing aids.

  5. Zizi,I think you are amazing. I am about 5 times your age and wasn't looking forward to getting hearing aids at all. Now i cant wait to get going with the decorations. It is important for me to get used to them, I am a musician and I want other people to see that you can still play music with hearing loss, so I will show them off! I have ordered purple ones too. I also love the fact that you give some of the jewellery away to others. that's lovely. Well done. From Liz :-) x

  6. Dear Liz,
thank you! It must be hard to read notes and play at the same time! I am learning to play the celtic harp and I don't have to read music, I learn the song first and then learn to play it. I hope you have made lovely decorations.

  7. Thanks Zizi,

Celtic harp is a lovely instrument. I am a bit lazy when it comes to reading music!
I write my own songs on guitar & sing them. It's a bit difficult in a band when you can't hear what everyone is playing. I'm hoping the hearing aids will help. I'm glad we are not a loud band though, we are more acoustic.

I noticed that Tesco have some twisty bracelets in.They also had some smaller, clear plastic ones that could be hair accessories. They would look cool on tubes too. They were about £3. I've seen some really pretty ear wraps online too. Love the gecko ones, good selection on google search: http://uk.images.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search;_ylt=A0LEVjInRXRUiGgAh.93Bwx.?p=gecko+ear+wraps&fr=&fr2=piv-web&hspart=ironsource&hsimp=yhs-fullyhosted_003&type=dsites.

I am going to experiment with these, have a look around & see whether there are any that are not too heavy and would not interfere with the hearing aids. I've waited a few months for these but I get them this week! Liz :-)

    1. Hello Liz,
Sorry I hadn't replied earlier because I had been busy catching up on homework! Thank you for the big comment I found it helpful. I would like to learn the guitar as well as playing the harp. Looks like I need to take a trip to Tesco!
