Hello! My name is Zizi and I'm 10 years old.
I love making decorations for my hearing aids.
Here I am going to teach you how to make your own decorations!

I will teach you to make dangling charm decorations, and also twisty decorations that go around the tubes.
Also, I will tell you how I use beads and stickers to decorate my aids.

Some of the decorations are easy to make, but some are difficult and you will need a grown-up to help you.

My mum and dad help me make my decorations for my hearing aids.

More twists!

My mum went to Claire's today, and she found more twists like the ones I talked about here, but also some new tiny shiny ones.

You can cut them up to make twists for your aids, it's very easy. Mine look great with my new shiny moulds.

Snakes!

For Christmas I got a new kind of material to make decorations. It's called Crayola Model Magic. It comes in different colors:

It's a bit like plasticine, but dry. It's soft and squidgy. It is similar to Fimo for making decorations, but you do not need to bake it. When you make things out of Fimo they are hard. With Model Magic they are softer. My mum says its good for making decorations with little children.

We made some snakes. Here they are:

We made them in the same way as twisters using Fimo, like I explained here, but added a little tongue, and eyes with a permanent marker.

Here is what they look when I put them on:

Twisters!

I haven't written anything for a while. But today I have something exciting to tell you!
We have just been to Sainsbury's, and we found these lovely twisty, springy bracelets:

They are made of plastic, and they are very nice. My mum and I thought they would be perfect to make decorations for my hearing aids. With a pair of scissors, we cut them and we made twisting decorations:

Now I have matching bracelet and hearing aids, do you like them?

Today we got my Halloween outfit ready for Thursday! There will be a party at the school, and we will also go trick-or-treating in the evening.

Here is what it looks like. You can see my blue glittery twists!

They make the outfit look extra special.

Glitter twists - tutorial

I have not written for a while because of the school holiday.
Yesterday I made some new twists with Fimo and glitter. They look really nice and I am wearing them to school today.
This is what they look like:

They go really well with my glittery moulds.

To make them you have to make twists. First, you make two long sticks of Fimo, rolling the fimo with your hands like this,

This is what the sticks should look like:

They have to be nice and even. Then you twist them around a crochet hook, like this,

and you can squeeze them together,

or leave them more separated:

Sometimes I like to roll them on the crochet stick, so they get a flat surface, instead of a round surface:

Then you bake them in the oven, following the instructions on the Fimo packet.

When they are out and cool, you paint them with Fimo varnish,

and whilst the varnish is still wet you shake glitter on top of it,

You have to wait overnight for them to dry, and then you can wear them!

Twists and ladybirds

Here are the ladybirds decorations that I showed you yesterday. I also made some Fimo twists, and I varnished it with a special Fimo varnish my mum got on the internet.

The twists look really nice and shiny! I also tried sticking some little gems onto the twists. It was difficult, I had to use tweezers:

To start with it looked really nice, and I took this picture,

but the next morning they all fell out. So now I have to think about a different way of sticking the little gems.
