For smaller kids...

I have made these decorations for my audiologist to give to the smaller children who come to the hospital to get hearing aids. I made many pairs. They are very easy to make. I am sorry I have not taken pictures to make a proper tutorial. But this is how you make them:

You need shoe charms and also plastic tubing. My mum bought the tubing on the internet. The diameter was 4mm.

Then a grown up needs to remove the back (the bit that goes into the shoe) with scissors or a knife.

Then you cut the tubing into small segments and stick the charms using strong glue (but not super glue or your fingers will stick as well).

New hearing aids

Yesterday I got new hearing aids again. I really liked my red shinny hearing aids, but they didn't work well with the FM system at school. My new hearing aids are purple like my first ones but with grey FM receivers. Today my mum made them look sparkly with stickers. I really like them now. By the way, I'm ten now! I'm not nine any more.

More twists!!

I'm sorry I have not written anything in a while. I have been on holiday!
My auntie sent me these bracelets from Claire's in Spain:

I don't know if they sell them in Claire's in this country too. I am going to make some twists. Just cutting them with scissors. They look great on my hearing aids! With just one packet of bracelets (they cost approximately £5) you can make lots of decorations. You can keep some and give some away.

I went on an NDCS First Time Away Weekend!

A little while ago I went on an NDCS First Time Away Weekend. I really enjoyed it. It was really fun. We did all these things: zip wire, obstacle course, scavenger hunt, low ropes, and more things! And in the evening we had hot chocolate before we went to bed, it was really nice. The food was yummy. But the best thing was meeting new friends and being with lots of other deaf children. It was nice to be with lots of people who wear hearing aids, because at school I am the only one with hearing aids.

Charms tutorial

Yesterday I made many new charms and on friday, when I go to my audiologist I will give him the twenty pairs that I made with my mum. I hope he will give them to other children. I made heart, stars and skeleton charms. Here are some of the charms I made and there is also a tutorial as well, I hope you enjoy it. Good luck, Zizi.

This is what you need.

you need wire, two rings (we use one half of a tiny toggle clasp, we buy them here on ebay, two tiny silver beads, charms and beads and here is how you make it:

You put the wire through the charm at the bottom of your decoration.

You twist the wire a little bit.

You add the beads you like.

You add the ring, and then twist a little bit.

You cut it close to the wire to make sure it doesn't scratch your ear.

And that's it!

My new hearing aids!

Two weeks ago I got my new hearing aids. They are a lovely shiny colour of red!

I'm famous in Norway!

I am famous in Norway! My mum found this. We think it's a magazine for deaf people, and half way through they have featured my blog with lovely pictures. It's very exciting.

I'm so happy that I have reached 4000 views! I hope you are learning to make a lot of interesting decorations for your hearing aids. You can make decorations out of almost anything. Sometimes I don't like wearing my hearing aids but when I have new decorations it makes me feel better.  If you don't like wearing hearing aids perhaps my tutorials will give you some nice ideas.  Thank you for reading my blog!

My mum went to Claire's today, and she found more twists like the ones I talked about here, but also some new tiny shiny ones.

You can cut them up to make twists for your aids, it's very easy. Mine look great with my new shiny moulds.

Rubber bands

Last week I went to Spain, and my cousin Catalina taught me how to make bracelets and charms with rubber bands. These are the bands:

My mum thought they would make good hearing aid decorations. What do you think?

There are lots of tutorials on youtube teaching how to make flowers and other things. I like the ones on the channel called Made by Mommy, like this snow flake.

Snakes!

For Christmas I got a new kind of material to make decorations. It's called Crayola Model Magic. It comes in different colors:

It's a bit like plasticine, but dry. It's soft and squidgy. It is similar to Fimo for making decorations, but you do not need to bake it. When you make things out of Fimo they are hard. With Model Magic they are softer. My mum says its good for making decorations with little children.

We made some snakes. Here they are:

We made them in the same way as twisters using Fimo, like I explained here, but added a little tongue, and eyes with a permanent marker.

I haven't written anything for a while. But today I have something exciting to tell you!
We have just been to Sainsbury's, and we found these lovely twisty, springy bracelets:

They are made of plastic, and they are very nice. My mum and I thought they would be perfect to make decorations for my hearing aids. With a pair of scissors, we cut them and we made twisting decorations:

Now I have matching bracelet and hearing aids, do you like them?
