Hello! My name is Zizi and I'm 10 years old.
I love making decorations for my hearing aids.
Here I am going to teach you how to make your own decorations!

I will teach you to make dangling charm decorations, and also twisty decorations that go around the tubes.
Also, I will tell you how I use beads and stickers to decorate my aids.

Some of the decorations are easy to make, but some are difficult and you will need a grown-up to help you.

My mum and dad help me make my decorations for my hearing aids.

Rubber bands

Last week I went to Spain, and my cousin Catalina taught me how to make bracelets and charms with rubber bands. These are the bands:

And these are some of the things I have been making:

My mum thought they would make good hearing aid decorations. What do you think?

There are lots of tutorials on youtube teaching how to make flowers and other things. I like the ones on the channel called Made by Mommy, like this snow flake.

Snakes!

For Christmas I got a new kind of material to make decorations. It's called Crayola Model Magic. It comes in different colors:

It's a bit like plasticine, but dry. It's soft and squidgy. It is similar to Fimo for making decorations, but you do not need to bake it. When you make things out of Fimo they are hard. With Model Magic they are softer. My mum says its good for making decorations with little children.

We made some snakes. Here they are:

We made them in the same way as twisters using Fimo, like I explained here, but added a little tongue, and eyes with a permanent marker.

Here is what they look when I put them on:

Twisters!

I haven't written anything for a while. But today I have something exciting to tell you!
We have just been to Sainsbury's, and we found these lovely twisty, springy bracelets:

They are made of plastic, and they are very nice. My mum and I thought they would be perfect to make decorations for my hearing aids. With a pair of scissors, we cut them and we made twisting decorations:

Now I have matching bracelet and hearing aids, do you like them?

What I wore today.

These are the charms I wore today to school. I mad them last week. Do you like them?

Lots of charms! (with video tutorial)

This weekend I made lots of charms:

I am taking all of these to my audiologist on Thursday. He will give them out to other girls who use hearing aids like me. Sometimes children don't know they can decorate their hearing aids, and they don't like wearing them. I hope my decorations will help them feel happy to have hearing aids.

I also made these:

These are for me!

You can see how to make this kind of decorations with pictures and texts in an older post, here.
Or you can see it in this video (the video is in two parts):

Flowers - tutorial

We went to the Leven bead shop, and found these nice beads:

This is what the back of the beads look like:

To turn them into decorations for my hearing aids we used a bit of red wire from the bead shop, and passed it through the gaps at the back, like this,

We piece at the back is very soft, so you can bend it easily to put the wire through. You have to leave enough space to put the tube of the hearing aid through. Then you make a knot with the wire, and cut the ends off so they don't scratch your ears.

And this is what the decorations look like,

Colourful tubes!

My mum found some nail wraps in Paperchase:

They are very soft, almost like cling film. They have no glue. They are great for wrapping around the tubes of my hearing aids, because they are so bendy and they can be removed so easily.

Have a look:
