Hello! My name is Zizi and I'm 10 years old.
I love making decorations for my hearing aids.
Here I am going to teach you how to make your own decorations!

I will teach you to make dangling charm decorations, and also twisty decorations that go around the tubes.
Also, I will tell you how I use beads and stickers to decorate my aids.

Some of the decorations are easy to make, but some are difficult and you will need a grown-up to help you.

My mum and dad help me make my decorations for my hearing aids.

Flowers - tutorial

We went to the Leven bead shop, and found these nice beads:

This is what the back of the beads look like:

To turn them into decorations for my hearing aids we used a bit of red wire from the bead shop, and passed it through the gaps at the back, like this,

We piece at the back is very soft, so you can bend it easily to put the wire through. You have to leave enough space to put the tube of the hearing aid through. Then you make a knot with the wire, and cut the ends off so they don't scratch your ears.

And this is what the decorations look like,

Do you like them?

  1. Dear Zizi, thank you for writing your blog and posting so much info about your hearing aid decorations! My daughter is 4 years old and I have had a hard time making her wear her hearing aids. Despite them being pink and having glitter in the in-ear-part, she had decided that they were not princess-y enough…. Googling “decorating hearing aids” resulted in me visiting your website, and the very next day we made both glitter tubes and pink charms. Now I have made several more decorations for her and she is proud of her hearing aids, showing them of to everybody! I have never seen similar decorations here in Sweden so that is extra fun. Again, thanks to you and your parents for your inspiration! Best regards Liza, mother of Elsa

  2. This is a brilliant idea I may have to give it a go for my self, I am nearly 18 and love making my plain silvery hearing aids look a little more interesting, I have covered them in diamontes and stickers in the past, but I am really impressed by some of these designs, they are great, and I am really impressed by how professional they look,

    Well done, Amber

  3. Did you know that you can super glue a piece of tubing or a piece of drinking straw on the back also? I also love your blog. It really helps my 6 year old daughter want to wear her hearing aid.
